Cousland

• Although small (the population has been cited as “around 300 people” in one recent study) the village retains a strong sense of community.
  
• The local community publishes a newsletter The Cousland Courier, which reaches some 260 households — sharing news on events such as the annual Gala Day, Hogmanay celebrations, community updates, and photos from village life. 
  
• The village has recently invested in improving community amenities: for example, the local green space — the football field — is now sometimes known as Cousland Village Park. Volunteers worked with the council to plant hedges, bulbs, fruit trees, install fencing and gates. The “wiggly path” through the park connects to former smiddy grounds and makes the village more walkable and green. Dog walkers love it!
