The Cousland Conservation Group

​This group has been set up by a local resident as a follow-up to the much-admired Blooming Idiots Group established during the pandemic. A number of groups and individuals already do great work and we too want to help keep the village looking its best.

​We identify areas of the village that could benefit from some attention. So far we’ve worked on clearing woodland of litter and glass, refreshing planters, giving an overgrown tree stump a make-over, deadheading daffodils, tending to the roses growing along the wall beneath the playpark, and clearing and replanting the area around the playpark. And you might have noticed that the signage at the top of Southfield Road and at the east end of Hadfast Road is now more visible. It’s remarkable what a difference a couple of hours makes.

​We also handed out sunflower seedlings and seed potatoes to village children as part of a growing competition. The winners were announced at the Gala Day.
